Contactless Curbside Pickup in Port Hawkesbury

Requesting Items

When requesting items using our online catalogue, please select Port Hawkesbury Library as a pickup location. Please ensure that you have a current phone number or email address listed on your library account. Staff will need current contact information in order to arrange a pickup time once materials are ready.

If you do not have internet access, please call 902-625-2729 with title requests. Please note that phone and email are monitored 9:30am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-4pm Monday to Friday.

Schedule a pickup time

Staff will contact you to schedule a pickup time when requested items become available.  Our available pickup windows are divided into 30 minute appointments that take place between 9:30am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-4pm Monday to Friday.

Contactless Curbside Pickup

Items will be available at the side doors of SAERC (304 Pitt Street, Port Hawkesbury, NS) during your scheduled pickup window. When making your Curbside Pickup appointment, please let us know whether or not you can call us when you arrive. If not, we ask that you arrive promptly at the time of your appointment.

Items will be checked out to you and will be inside a paper bag. Your surname will be written on the bag. We recommend that you wash your hands after discarding the bag.

Please note that the building remains closed to the public at this time. Staff are not available for help in-person.


Returns are accepted at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre **currently unavailable as of April 28, 2021**. Please place returns in the bookdrop labelled Library Returns. This bookdrop is located inside the building near the main entrance, just under the sign for the Shannon Studio.

April 28, 2021: Returns are currently accepted outside of the library during open hours (9:30am-12:30pm, 1:30pm-4pm Monday to Friday) in the gray box labelled 'Returns'.

Please note that all items returned are quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before they are processed. They will remain on your library account during that period of time. ECRL does not charge overdue fines.
